Brownback Close to Releasing Tax Plan

Governor Sam Brownback’s administration is close to releasing a proposal to rewrite the state’s tax code. The goal is to speed up economic growth. Secretary of Revenue Nick Jordan says he wants the plan to make Kansas more competitive in attracting new business.

Governor Brownback wouldn’t give a release date, but says he wants the plan to be ready when lawmakers convene the 2012 session.

Brownback says he wants to lower the rates for both business and personal income taxes.
