All-Star Game Showcases Slugging in NL Victory

The ceremonies beginning the 2012 Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium. (Photo credit: sportsillustrated.cnn.com)The annual Major League Baseball All-Star game may be all about resurrecting the history and celebrating the traditions of the game, but even by those standards, last (TUE) night's All-Star game at Kauffman Stadium was oddly reminiscent of another era: the 1970s. The last time the All-Star game was played in Kansas City, it was 1973, and the National League won convincingly by a score of 7-1. Last (TUE) night's outcome was almost identical, as the National League handed the American League an 8-0 loss. Kansas Public Radio's Greg Echlin has the story.
