Kansas Policy Institute Poll: Majority Favors Budget Cuts over Tax Hikes

A poll commissioned by the Kansas Policy Institute indicates a majority of Kansans wants lawmakers to use money sitting in a state investment fund to balance this year’s budget, rather than raise taxes.  The poll also suggests state residents favor spending cuts more than raising income taxes.  Dave Trabert (TRAW-bert) is president of the conservative advocacy group:


Kansas lawmakers are still divided on how to close gaps in the budget.  Some want to rely more on tax hikes.  Others are pushing for deeper cuts in spending.
