Advance Voting Begins This Week in Kansas

Tuesday is deadline for registering to vote in primary.
Tuesday is deadline for registering to vote in primary.

Advance voting ahead of the August primaries begins in Kansas this week. Voters must be registered by tomorrow, Tuesday, July 12, to vote in the August 2nd primaries. County election offices will begin mailing out advance ballots later this week to registered voters who request them. If you choose to vote in advance by mail, elections officials urge you to fill out and return the ballots quickly. Tabitha Lehman is Election Commissioner in Sedgwick County.

Most election offices also offer in-person early voting during the last two weeks of July. Call your local county elections office to find out where and when you can cast your early vote. State records show that about 20-to-30 percent of Kansans voted early in the 2014 primaries.
