The redistricting map that would split Lawrence.A committee in the Kansas House has approved a congressional redistricting map that splits the city of Lawrence. The plan would put part of north and east Lawrence in the 1st District of western Kansas. The top Democrat in the House, Paul Davis of Lawrence, does not like the idea.
Supporters of the proposal say advancing it will give judges another map to consider if the courts get involved in redistricting. The full House could consider the congressional map tomorrow (FRI).
