Topeka Mayor Opposes Domestic Partner Registry

Topeka Mayor Bill Bunten is opposed to a domestic partner registry the city council is considering. The move would establish a registry for unmarried couples, both gay and straight. It would afford couples easier access to benefits, like health insurance and hospital visitation. But Bunten is concerned creating the registry would be a step toward legalizing gay marriage.

Advocates for the registry say it's about helping businesses attract employees... and equality for all committed relationships.
