A rash of Kansas attorneys have found themselves on the wrong side of the law in the past few weeks. Ron Keefover is with the Office of Judicial Administration and says those who practice law are required to abide by the law.
Last week, a Baldwin City lawyer had his license suspended for failure to pay child support, while a Topeka attorney was sentenced for involuntary manslaughter in the death of a man he struck while driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Last month, an Overland Park attorney was sentenced to at least ten years in prison for attempting to entice a minor into having sex, and a Wichita attorney was charged with embezzlement after being accused of stealing pension checks from veterans.
