One of the most renowned film composers of the 20th century, Alex North created music for more than 60 major motion pictures, including A Streetcar Named Desire (the first all-jazz movie score), Death of a Salesman, Spartacus, Cleopatra and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. We'll hear excerpts from those films, as well as North's rejected score for 2001: A Space Odyssey on this week's Film Music Friday.
