Local motion and graphic designer Trevor Mowry is allowing Kansas Public Radio to use his original design on this year's Winter Membership Drive thank-you gift - a pair of KPR socks! Trevor's fun, playful illustrations made him an obvious stand out when he entered our mug design contest in the spring, so being able to incorporate his design at KPR in another way has been so very exciting.
Trevor's hobbies include running a film podcast with his friend in Oakland, Calif., woodworking, video-games and watching movies. He mentions how he is a lifelong Kansas guy. "I'm originally from Dodge City. Does it get any more Kansas than that?" When asked how he was inspired to create his design, he says doodling is what drove him to create the buffalo, wheat, and other icons within his design, a collage of all things Kansas, as he puts it. Trevor is also an avid KPR listener and says it is his default radio station. He loves the morning news and jazz in the evenings, adding, "It's just a nice feeling, tuned in to a real person atop the hill."
Although he works for KU Marketing Communications as a motion designer, Trevor also runs a small business; Mowry Studio offers a wide variety of creative services to businesses and individuals. "Whether it's video production, motion graphics, or a new logo, we'll make the idea come to life." Get inspired at trevormowry.com or @mowry_studio on Instagram.
