Throughout the months of February and March, the rotating display of local art in KPR’s conference room will feature pieces from Cottonwood, Inc., consumers. Cottonwood is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs for individuals with developmental disabilities in the Lawrence community. Cottonwood encourages their consumers to make art and attend classes to help them express themselves.
Cottonwood staffer Mark Barlow says that artist Jenny Golden (pictured at right) "Is quite possibly the nicest, happiest person on this planet. Her art reveals a wellspring of love and joy, an example to be emulated."
Another featured artist, Eldon Greene, finds his inspiration in nature and brings it to life on both paper and canvas. His "Jayhawk Sunset," pictured in the gallery below, has already become a KPR-staffer favorite.
