Report: Kansas Ranks Low in Energy Efficiency

Report: Kansas Ranks Low in Energy Efficiency

Kansas ranks almost last in a new report on energy efficiency.  The scorecard from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy ranks states based on a number of factors, including what utility companies are doing to promote energy efficiency.  Council researcher Weston Berg says one reason Kansas does so poorly is because there’s little to no investment in energy efficiency policies.

Kansas scored 7.5 points out of 50, which ties it for 46th place.  The energy council advocates for energy efficiency policies as the least-expensive method for lowering the cost of providing energy.
