Leola Montgomery is just three years shy of 100 years old. She’s the widow of Reverend Oliver Brown, the lead plaintiff in the 1954 landmark case, Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka. Montgomery is scheduled be in Wichita tomorrow (SAT) to receive a special recognition award for her family’s role in the civil rights decision. Montgomery recently talked with Carla Eckels of KMUW Radio in Wichita about the case and about her life since the historic decision.
