KANSAS CITY, KAN. - A Lawrence man has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for distributing child pornography. Acting U.S. Attorney Tom Beall said that 35-year-old Tyler Padden pleaded guilty to one count of distributing child pornography. At his sentencing, prosecutors said Padden had four computers containing 2,000 images and 800 videos of child pornography. He installed seven file sharing programs on his computer, allowing him to search for child porn and allowing other users to download images from his collection of child pornography. The investigation began when a detective with the Overland Park Police Department used the Internet to download child pornography from Padden’s computer. Beall commended the Overland Park Police Department, the FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Flannigan for their work on the case.
