Film Music Friday - April 24, 2020 (Jerry Goldsmith)

On this week's Film Music Friday, we'll attempt the impossible -- to distill a 50+ year career of creating innovative and exciting film scores into just two hours.  Jerry Goldsmith began writing music for network radio dramas in the '50s and eventually worked in television and finally movies, where he wrote music for films like The Omen, Lonely Are the Brave, Alien, Patton, The Sand Pebbles, The Blue Max and five Star Trek films, among many others.  We'll hear excerpts from these and more on Film Music Friday.

Film Music Friday - March 6, 2020 (Bernard Herrmann)

Bernard Herrmann wrote for every medium of his time - radio, television, movies, opera and concert hall - but he was best known for his brilliant film scores, many of them for the 20th century's greatest directors, including Orson Welles, Francois Truffaut, Martin Scorcese and, of course, Alfred Hitchcock. This week on Film Music Friday we'll hear excerpts from Herrmann's scores for Citizen Kane, The Day the Earth Stood Still, North by Northwest, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Psycho and more.
