Film Music Friday - November 19, 2021 (A Film Music Concert)

It's common nowadays to hear film music performed in concert by symphony orchestras. However, in the 1930s and '40s, most symphony conductors and critics looked down on film music, so it was rarely recorded or performed in public. On this week's Film Music Friday, we'll hear works that transcended their original film and are now frequently performed in concert, including excerpts from The Adventures of Robin Hood, Spellbound, Bridge on the River Kwai and E.T.
