Cooper McGuire and Alicia Willard live at Kansas Public Radio November 12, 2019

The 1912 death of Salvation Army founder William Booth inspired poet Vachel Lindsay to write

'General Booth Enters into Heaven.'   Bass/baritone Cooper McGuire and pianist Alicia Willard

perform Charles Ives' 1926 musical setting of it, describing the Commander's imagined migration into Glory.

Also hear their very touching performances of 'Questo Amor' about unrequited love from Puccini's opera 'Edgar,'

and a song from Douglas Moore's 'The Ballad of Baby Doe' called 'Warm as the Autumn Light.'
