Pablo Casals (1876-1973) was one of the most revered classical musicians of the twentieth century. The 1733 Gofriller cello he played for most of his career is now in the hands of Amit Peled, at the express invitation of Mrs. Casals. Michael Keelan talked with Peled about the legacy of Casals and the experience of working with the instrument. Peled's album of the Brahms sonatas on that cello is with pianist Noreen Polera.
