One of three winning tickets in Friday night's world-record Mega Millions lottery jackpot was sold in Kansas. The other two winning tickets were sold in Illinois and Maryland. The three tickets will split a total prize of $640 million, which is believed to be the world's largest-ever prize.
According to the Kansas Lottery website, one jackpot-winning ticket was purchased somewhere in northeast Kansas. A spokesman for the Illinois Lottery says his state's winning ticket was sold in the small town of Red Bud, near St. Louis. The Maryland Lottery says it had sold a winning ticket at a retail store in Baltimore County. Each winning ticket is expected to be worth more than $213 million before taxes.
The winning numbers drawn Friday night are: 2-4-23-38-46, Mega Ball 23.
