Why I Chose Teaching... and How UKanTeach Helped

There's been a lot of talk about budget cuts to schools and the nationwide teacher shortage. Despite the gloomy forecast, some college students are still choosing careers in education. Guest Commentator Michael Ralph was one of them. He began his teaching career six years ago and hasn't looked back.

Guest Commentator Michael Ralph is a biology teacher at Olathe East High School. He's also a graduate of the University of Kansas where he completed the UKanTeach program. (Incidentally, Michael's mother, Shannon Ralph of Dodge City, is the 2015 Kansas Teacher of the Year! So, he's following in good footsteps!)
