Sec of State Readying New Voter ID and Registration Rules

Legislation known as the S-A-F-E (“safe”) act will make major changes to Kansas voting rules next year. The law will require voters to show a photo ID at the polls. It will also require people registering to vote to prove their citizenship. As KPR’s Stephen Koranda reports, the secretary of state will push for the citizenship requirement to take effect sooner than planned.

Stephen Koranda is KPR's Statehouse reporter.
