A New Oil Boom in Southern Kansas?

The state of Kansas is world-famous as an agricultural powerhouse and a leader in the cattle industry. But it's also one of the nation's biggest oil producers. Commentator Rex Buchanan says Kansas has been reaping the benefits of advances in drilling technology, and explains how landowners might end up big winners in a coming Kansas oil boom.

Commentator Rex Buchanan is a regular contributor to Kansas Public Radio. He's also the Interim Director of the Kansas Geological Survey and co-author of the book "Roadside Kansas."
