More Storms, Heavy Rain Forecast in KS

Yet another day of heavy rains and possible severe weather is in the forecast for eastern Kansas. Kyle Poage (“pohg”) is with the National Weather Service in Topeka. He says the rain has led to flash flood watches and flood warnings for parts of eastern Kansas.

Poage says the rain is helping ease the drought situation, but in some areas it’s coming down so fast that the saturated ground can’t absorb any more moisture. Poage says that leads to the runoff that's helping raise river and stream levels.
