Merck Animal Health Invests $100 Million to Expand Facilities in Northeast Kansas

A major animal health company says it will invest $100 million to expand its manufacturing facilities in northeast Kansas. Kansas Public Radio's J. Schafer has more.

Merck's facility in De Soto currently employs nearly 200 people in the town of 6,400. It does not appear that the expansion plans will create additional permanent jobs in northeast Kansas. De Soto is home to one of four U.S. manufacturing facilities operated by Merck Animal Health, one of the world's leading manufacturers of animal health supplies.
