Market Sale to Benefit Fallen Topeka Police Officers' Fund

The Topeka community is trying to raise money for the families of two fallen officers. Next weekend's Kansas Avenue Market will raise funds to support the families of police officers Jeff Atherly and David Gogian (GO-ghee-enn), who were killed in a shootout with a gunman on December 16th. Anje Kearney (ANN-jee KURR-nee) helps organize the market at 628 Kansas Avenue.

Kearney said there will be several items for sale at the market next Saturday (January 12) that honor the officers. Any money raised will go to the families and not back to the vendors.
