Locomotive Stops in Kansas on 150th Anniversary Tour

 

A legendary train will be back in Kansas this week, for a stop on the final leg of a tour celebrating Union Pacific Railroad’s 150th Anniversary. UP spokesman Mark Davis says that steam locomotive 844 holds a special place in railroad history.

 

 

Locomotive Number 844 arrives in Marysville today (FRI) before stopping in Kansas City tomorrow (SAT). It will remain at Kansas City's Union Station until Sunday afternoon, when it will make its way back to its home in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Steam Locomotive Wraps Up National Tour

Union Pacific's legendary 844 Steam Locomotive is wrapping up its 150 Express Tour - a tour celebrating the rail line's 150th anniversary. The locomotive will be back in Kansas this week, before making its way home to Cheyenne, Wyoming. UP spokesperson Mark Davis says this was the last steam locomotive built for Union Pacific, and it has never been retired. 

 

 

Number 844 is slated to arrive in Marysville today (FRI). It travels to Kansas City's Union Station tomorrow (SAT), where it will remain until Sunday afternoon.
