Legislature's Decisions Should Take Precedence on School Funding Questions, Says State AG

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt says he hopes judges in the ongoing school finance trial will NOT order the state to increase public school funding. Speaking outside the courtroom yesterday (MON), Schmidt said the court should respect the funding decisions made by the legislature.

Plaintiffs in the lawsuit argue that Kansas is under-funding public schools by as much as one-and-a-half billion dollars a year.
