KPR Presents: We're Off to See the Wizard!

Week of May 31, 2020: In celebration of the 120th anniversary of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," we're revisiting the 1900 classic by L. Frank Baum. The Topeka-Shawnee County Public Library just finished "Top City Reads," a month-long virtual book club featuring "The Wonderful World of Oz." We'll hear from Oz historian John Fricke, author of "The Wizard of Oz: An Illustrated Companion to the Timeless Classic," Gregory Maguire, author of "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West," Angelica Carpenter, the past president of the International Wizard of Oz Club, and many others in this encore presentation from 2012.

Kaye starts her weekends the same way you do: with Weekend Edition Saturday, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, and To the Best of Our Knowledge. She started at Kansas Public Radio in 2001; in 2006, she became the producer of our weekly public affairs program, KPR Presents. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and attend theater.
