KPR Presents: 100 Years of WWI Collecting

Rex Buchanan commentary: "Black Smoke"

Week of August 1, 2021: It's a visit to the National World War One Museum in Kansas City. You've got just one more week to visit their exhibit "100 Years of Collecting," which closes August 8. Join Kaye McIntyre and senior curator Doran Cart for a (socially distanced) walk through the exhibit and a conversation about how the Museum decides what kinds of artifacts to accept. Also, it's Part Four of the series "Where It Hurts: Dedicated to Human Suffering." And finally, Rex Buchanan's review of "Black Smoke: African Americans and the United States of Barbeque" by Adrian Miller.

Kaye starts her weekends the same way you do: with Weekend Edition Saturday, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, and To the Best of Our Knowledge. She started at Kansas Public Radio in 2001; in 2006, she became the producer of our weekly public affairs program, KPR Presents. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and attend theater.
