KDOT: Court Ruling Means South Lawrence Trafficway Will Be Completed

After 30 years of controversy, it appears the South Lawrence Trafficway will be completed.  That's according to officials with the Kansas Transportation Department, who are reacting to a decision by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.  KDOT spokesman Josh Powers says the court ruling, which was released yesterday (TUE) morning, means construction can move forward on the eastern leg of the four-lane road.

The South Lawrence Trafficway has been a contentious issue for the last three decades, but KDOT officials expect construction to begin in the fall of next year.
