At the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, KU senior Andrea Geubelel of University Place, Washington, won the individual national title in the long jump. Geubelle's long jump national title is KU's first in school history. Her senior teammate, Francine Simpson of Jamaica, claimed the bronze medal for her third place finish. Geubelle's best jump was 6.55 meters; Simpson's was 6.41 meters.
