Trial Date Set for Topeka Dad Charged in Daughter's Death
TOPEKA, Kan. (KPR/WIBW) - A trial date has been set for a Topeka man charged in the death of his two-year-old daughter. WIBW reports that a jury trial is scheduled for April 2023 for Jeffery "James" Exon. The malnourished body of Aurora Exon was found in January 2021; she had been dead for about ten days. Her father is charged with first-degree murder, child endangerment, and failure to report a child's death.

KC Pharmacy Denies Discrimination Charges
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KC Star/KPR) - A Kansas City pharmacy is denying allegations of discriminating against transgender and non-binary patients. The Kansas City Star reported that several people have accused the Linwood Boulevard Costco of refusing to fill their prescriptions for testosterone, prompting an investigation by the city's LGBTQ commission. A spokesperson for Costco says there were problems with how those prescriptions were written and that pharmacy staff is reaching out to certain health care providers to resolve the issue.

NWS Issues Freeze Watch
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KPR) - The National Weather Service is predicting the area's first freeze of the season Monday night. Temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 20s Monday night and Tuesday night. The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for much of Kansas and almost all of Missouri from late Monday night through Tuesday morning. A Freeze Warning will take effect for the northwest Kansas.
