Gov Appoints Three to Board of Regents

Governor Sam Brownback today (FRI) announced three appointments to the Kansas Board of Regents, including the wife of a Kansas senator. The board oversees the state's universities and community colleges. Brownback selected Robba Moran, wife of Kansas Senator Jerry Moran - and Fred Logan, a partner in a Prairie Village law firm. Brownback also chose Kenny Wilk, a former legislator who headed the team that prepared the Brownback administration to take office. Brownback stressed the economic role higher education plays in the state. Wilk says the regents need to make sure Kansas has a workforce educated for the modern economy.

The regents are appointed by the governor and server four-year terms. The appointments will need to be confirmed by the Kansas Senate.
