Ford CEO Alan Mulally to Speak at KU Commencement

Ford Motor Company President and CEO Alan Mulally will be the featured speaker during commencement ceremonies at the University of Kansas on May 13.  Mulally is a KU graduate himself, earning a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering in 1968 and a master’s degree from KU in 1969.  He became president and CEO of Ford in 2006.  Prior to joining Ford, Mulally was executive vice president of The Boeing Company and president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Those roles capped a career at Boeing that began in 1969.  Mulally is also one of four inaugural recipients of KU honorary degrees, along with former Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation chair Sheila Bair, former Senate Majority Leader Robert Dole and composer Kirke L. Mechem.  KU’s 140th Commencement will take place at 10:30am on Sunday, May 13, in Memorial Stadium.
