Farm, Food, Forestry All Part Of Next Farm Bill

Congress is beginning to map out how it will spend more than $500 billion on food and farm programs over the next five years.

We’re at the beginning of a new farm bill cycle, when Congress maps out how to spend more than $500 billion dollars on food and farm programs over the next five years. The new farm bill is under discussion as the U.S. Department of Agriculture is being restructured and the nation’s farm economy continues its downward slide. Harvest Public Media’s Amy Mayer explains what’s at stake with the farm bill and why all taxpayers should pay attention.
