Kansas City, Missouri officials have selected Edgemoore Infrastructure and Real Estate to design, build, and finance a new, single terminal Kansas City International Airport.  Maryland-based Edgemoore beat out three other firms competing for the billion-dollar project, including Kansas City-based Burns & McDonnell, which tried to brand itself as the hometown team.  Prior to Wednesday's announcement, little was known about Edgemoore’s proposal, as they were the only firm that did not publicly release any information about their plan.  Kansas City Councilwoman Jolie Justus, who was on the six-person selection committee that chose Edgemoore’s proposal.

The full city council still has to approve the recommendation. Kansas City voters will be asked to approve the new terminal plan in November.
