A shooting outside a sports bar in east Lawrence left three people wounded early Sunday morning.

Police responded to reports around 2 a.m. of a shooting outside Playerz Sports Bar, near 19th and Haskell, according to a Lawrence police news release. Officers found a man and a woman with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooter led police on a brief chase, but was found with serious, life-threatening wounds, apparently from a gunshot, and was taken to a hospital.

On Sunday morning, police had roped off part of the parking at the shopping center housing Playerz Sports Bar. Investigators were on the scene.

Police did not release the names of the suspect, nor the man and woman who were shot in the parking lot. Police did not immediately respond to further requests for comment.
