Drought Conditions Easing in Kansas


(Flickr Photo by Richard Abbott Photography)Drought conditions across Kansas have eased significantly since last year, according to the chairman of the Governor's Drought Response Team. Tracey Streeter says many counties that were covered by a drought warning have now been taken off the list, however...

Streeter's office recently removed 14 counties from drought warning status...mainly in southern and western Kansas. As of now, 16 counties are under a drought warning and 75 counties are on drought watch status. The warning declaration makes the areas eligible for federal disaster funds.
