The town of Chapman is searching for a new high school team mascot. The Chapman Fighting Irish received notice from the University of Notre Dame that it would not be allowed to use the school's famous "fighting leprechaun" logo that has served as the Chapman mascot. Lacee Sell, the district superintendent, says the community will have the last word on what the replacement mascot should be.
Sell says the high school teams will still be allowed to refer to themselves as the "Fighting Irish"...but won't be allowed to sell any merchandise featuring that name.
