Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed a bill today (TUE), raising the state’s sales tax to 6 and a half percent and making only one line item cut. KCUR’s Maria Carter has more.

The Board of Regents meets tomorrow (WED) to discuss tuition at state universities. Lawmakers capped tuition hikes at 3.6 percent, but it’s still unknown how those hikes will be split between in-state and out-of-state students.

KCUR-FM, 89.3FM, is the flagship NPR station of the Kansas City metro area. It is part of Kansas City Public Media and part of the NPR digital network. Licensed to the University of Missouri-Kansas City and located on the UMCK campus.
