Blizzard Slams Eastern KS / Gov Says Stay Home!

A massive winter storm has prompted Kansas Governor Sam Brownback to declare a state of emergency for more than 50 counties in the eastern half of the state. The blizzard has dumped heavy snow and created dangerous driving conditions across Kansas and much of the Midwest.

A blizzard warning continues for part of northeast Kansas -- including Lawrence and Kansas City -- until 6 o'clock tomorrow (WED) morning. The rest of eastern Kansas remains under a winter storm warning until 6am.
