Author Karen Russell to Speak at Lawrence Public Library Event

Author Karen Russell will be in Lawrence this (THUR) evening to deliver the second annual Ross and Marianna Beach Author Series lecture. Her short stories have been widely acclaimed, and her novel "Swamplandia!" was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize in fiction. She's also the recipient of a MacArthur Foundation "genius" grant. She spoke last week with KPR's Laura Lorson about writing...her childhood love of Kansas...and how her home state of Florida influenced her style.

That's author Karen Russell, talking with KPR's Laura Lorson. Russell will give a talk at Abe and Jake's Landing tonight (THUR) at 7:30, as part of the Ross and Marianna Beach Author Series, presented by the Lawrence Public Library. Her books will be available tonight (THUR) at the Raven Bookstore, as well.  For more information, visit lawrencepubliclibrary.org.
