AAA Says Holiday Travel Up This Year

More people are expected to be hitting the road over this holiday. AAA (“triple A”) estimates 35 million Americans will be traveling, an increase of around 500,000 over last year. Betty Oliva (oh-LEE-vuh) is with AAA Kansas. She says lower gas prices are likely responsible for an uptick in car travel.

While car travel is up, Oliva says plane travel will be down. She says some of the common destinations for Kansans include Omaha, Nebraska, as well as Branson and St. Louis, Missouri.
