The Kansas City Chiefs rallied in the second half yesterday (SUN) afternoon to secure their first victory of the year. At Arrowhead Stadium, the Chiefs defeated the Vikings, 22-17. As Kansas Public Radio's Greg Echlin reports, the Chiefs through the first three weeks of the N-F-L season hardly resembled the 2010 team that won the A-F-C West and advanced to the playoffs.

Next year, the Royals will have a new pitching coach and a new bench coach. Bubba Starling has found out first-hand about the pros and cons of being in the media spotlight. Earlier this year, the 19-year old signed a contract for millions as a first-round draft choice for the Kansas City Royals. But last weekend in Arizona, Starling was issued a citation for underage drinking. Royals General Manager Dayton Moore says Starling has learned his lesson.Starling is in Arizona participating in the Royals Instructional League.

Hundreds of people gathered in Topeka today (MON) for a hearing on a proposed oil pipeline expansion project. The U-S State Department took public comments on the Keystone XL pipeline, which would expand the TransCanada Corporation's capacity for carrying oil from Canada to Texas. Union member Carl Baysinger, from Columbia, Missouri, came to show his support for the project.Opponents of the project say it could damage the agriculture industry in Kansas if the pipe leaks or breaks and pollutes groundwater.
