This weekend, the Final Four teams in the NCAA men's tournament face off...and for the first since 2006, no number-1 seeds are still in the hunt for the title. That's bad news for fans of the number-one seeded University of Kansas Jayhawks, who lost Sunday to the Virginia Commonwealthy University Rams. While NCAA tournament followers are trying to figure out what happened to their brackets, stunned KU fans are simply asking, 'What happened?' Kansas Public Radio's Greg Echlin has more.

Kansas Jayhawks basketball coach Bill Self dreads his trip this weekend to Houston for the coaches convention. It's held in conjunction with the Final Four. As Kansas Public Radio's Greg Echlin reports, Self says it will be tough after KU's season-ending loss on Sunday.Meanwhile in the National Invitation Tournament, Wichita State advanced to the title game tomorrow (THUR) night in New York against Alabama. The Shockers defeated Washington State, 75-44, last (TUE) night.

Wichita State, which plays in the semifinals of the National Invitation Tournament tonight (TUE) in New York, also lost to V-C-U. It was a crushing blow to the Kansas Jayhawks, a season-ending loss in the NCAA tournament to Virginia Commonwealth University. The V-C-U Rams became only the third team since the seeding system began in 1979 to advance to the Final Four as a number-11 seed. As Kansas Public Radio's Greg Echlin reports, the Jayhawks will find the loss tough to swallow despite a 35-3 record this season.

En route to KU's national title three years ago, coach Bill Self remembers the Jayhawks' two-point victory over tenth-seeded Davidson.Tipoff on tonight's (FRI) game in San Antonio, where the Jayhawks won the title in '08, is at 6:27. The television network it can be seen on is TBS.
