The Phil Silvers Show was a CBS TV sitcom which ran from 1955 to 1959. The show starred Phil Silvers, who played U.S. Army Master Sergeant Ernest Bilko. The show is sometimes titled and referred to by fans as Sergeant Bilko or, simply, Bilko. The series was originally set in Fort Baxter, an army post in the fictitious town of Roseville, Kan. The storyline involved the lives of the soldiers of the Fort Baxter motor pool, who were under the command of Sgt. Bilko. Bilko and his men spent most of their time avoiding army duties and trying to make money through get-rich-quick schemes.
