A: Bill Russell (of Pittsburg, Kan.)
Kansas City Royals pitcher Aaron Crow, a graduate of Washburn Rural High School in Kansas, was selected for the 2011 All Star Game. Before that, the last time a Kansas high school graduate was selected as a player for the All Star Game was in 1980. That’s when Bill Russell, a shortstop for the Los Angeles Dodgers, was named to the All Star team.
