Description: 2018 Sunflower Fair – A Grand Time! Keynote speaker ~ Dan Adcock, is the Director of Government Relations and Policy Department of the National Committee To Preserve Social Security And Medicare and has been in this position since November 2011. Closing speaker ~ Ken Canfield, a nationally-known leader and scholar has committed his life to strengthening families. Most notably is the National Center for Fathering, where he served as President for 16 years. He is currently president of the National Association for Grandparenting (GrandsMatter.org). Avoiding Grand (and not so grand) Scams! – Avoiding fraud and abuse sometimes means recognizing you or your older relative needs help with finances. Talk Show Panel with Natalie Bannister, Senior Examiner with the Office of the Kansas Securities Commissioner, Deb Schwartz of Adult Protective Services and a representative from the Kansas Attorney General’s office will help you learn what to do about a sensitive subject. 5. Making Grand Choices on Important Legal Issues for Elders– Paul Shipp with Kansas Legal Services will arm you with information so you can make smart choices. 6. Line Dancing in Grand Way – Join the K-State Swinging Spurs for a boot stompin’ good time! 7. Opioids and Pain Management – Larry Black with Central Kansas Foundation will provide up-to-date information on what you need to know about opioids in the news!
