Description: KU Natural History Museum, A Science on Tap Event- Habitat Restoration at the Baker Wetlands with Roger Boyd Wednesday, February 20 7:30pm Free State Brewing Company, 636 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, KS With the construction of the South Lawrence Trafficway, the Baker Wetlands was significantly impacted. The mitigation plan that was developed by Roger and Jon Boyd, in partnership with the Kansas Dept. of Transportation and contractor Emory Sapp and Sons, has expanded the wildlife habitat from 573 to 927 acres. This presentation will give you a sense of what transpired through the mitigation process and what some of the successful outcomes have been.
