"First File - Lawrence / Douglas County"

Date:

Tuesday, March 13, 2018 - 09:00

Location:

Sports Pavilion - Rock Chalk Park

Description: For Immediate Release March 9, 2018 For more information contact: John White Senior Director FIRST FILE INC™ 785-418-4770 FIRST FILE INC™ to introduce additional files in Lawrence & Douglas County. FIRST FILE INC™ has partnered with Pioneer Ridge Independent Living, Caregivers Home Health, Breathe Oxygen & Medical Supply, Baldwin Healthcare & Rehab Center, and Royal Crest Lanes to bring First Files to the LAPA (Lawrence Area Partners In Aging) “Resource Fair for Seniors” to be held Tuesday March 13th from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Sports Pavilion Lawrence at Rock Chalk Park. Your First File is designed to be of assistance to individuals, caregivers, and emergency personnel. Information is collected and placed in a blue folder, which is then attached to the refrigerator magnetically so that when emergency responders arrive on the scene, they can get the life-saving information immediately. We have recently began including blue First File stickers for community members to put inside their door jamb so that the moment the first responders walk into their home they are able to see that this is a First File household “Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community is proud to partner with First File to bring these potentially life-saving folders to the citizens of Douglas County. It is beyond important for the Emergency Medical Providers to access a seniors medical information as quickly as possible during a health crisis, and the First File folders work to provide this information in an effective manner,” states Debbie Walker, Regional Director of Independent Living with Midwest Health, representing Pioneer Ridge Independent Living. FIRST FILES™ will be available at the Resource Fair For Seniors. Anyone of any age can utilize these valuable tools to help in the emergency situation. If you are unable to pick your file up the 13th, they will be available at select sponsor locations after the event. Submitted by: John White First File Inc.
