Sunday, April 18, 2021 - 18:00

Location:

virtual

Description: All are invited to join us for a three-week book study on "Decolonizing Wealth: Indigenous Wisdom to Heal Divides and Restore Balance" by Edgar Villanueva. This study will be led by Rev. Dr. Deb Meinke. What if money could heal us? All of us. The author, Edgar Villanueva, is a Lumbee Indian with a decade of experience in the philanthrophy biz. His work encourages all to move beyond traditional views of colonizer charity to reciprocity and mutual liberation in which we are all inter-connected. We are only a healthy community if we're taking care of everybody. Join Rev. Dr. Deb Meinke as she leads us through a three-week discussion of this book. Rev. Dr. Deb Meinke, HR, is a new member of Heartland Presbytery, having transferred from Cimarron Presbytery in North-central Oklahoma. Deb is a lifelong Presbyterian with degrees in geology, evolutionary biology, and theology (College of Wooster, Yale, and later Phillips Seminary). She loves science and theology, and is committed to creation care, envrionmental and racial justice, and their intersections. (She/her/hers) Submitted by: Alex Treaster Second Presbyterian Church
